ALEŠ SEDMAK: »SCIENTIFIC ILLUSTRATIONS«
Aleš Sedmak (1952) works as a painter, graphic artist, graphic designer, illustrator and pedagogue.
From 1990 to 2023, 373 books (178 textbooks, 106 workbooks, 25 catalogues, 17 handbooks and 8 dictionaries) in the fields of geography, biology and social sciences were published with his illustrations. He has received numerous awards and honours for his work, including the Valvasor Award and a special recognition at the 10th Slovenian Biennale of Illustration. He is an author who has developed a unique style in his many years of work with illustrations, in which he simultaneously preserves the analytical, transparent aspects of the illustrated objects or processes with an extraordinary artistic language, while at the same time bringing a fresh, light and artistically convincing expression to the illustrations.
The exhibition will be on display until June 3, 2025.
